Eventually, all life comes to an end. It is fascinating to contemplate that humans decay the same way as an apple.
“Heart Stops Beating” is a children’s book that tells a symbolic story of a body decomposing and going back into the earth. Rather than using unpleasant imagery, the biological process is encapsulated in the descriptive and imaginative illustrations. It would be a great book for teaching the sciences or humanities. It is provocative without being explicit.
